In the UK, 110mm (4 inch) is the standard diameter for domestic underground drainage and soil vent pipes. While 45 and 90-degree bends are common for sharp turns, the 15-degree “shallow” bend is critical for correcting minor misalignments or navigating around structural obstacles without causing the flow turbulence that leads to blockages.

The “double socket” design means both ends of the fitting are “female,” accepting the “male” (plain) ends of standard 110mm pipes. This eliminates the need for additional couplers.
