Description
What is a 110mm Air Admittance Valve?
An Air Admittance Valve (AAV) is a pressure-activated one-way valve used in soil and waste systems. When water flows down a drain, it creates negative pressure (a vacuum). This valve opens to let air in, equalizing the pressure and preventing the “gurgling” sounds or the siphoning of water from nearby traps. Once the pressure is balanced, the valve snaps shut to keep foul smells trapped inside the pipework.
Why Choose an Internal AAV Over a Roof Vent?
Traditionally, soil stacks had to be vented through the roof of a property. Using a 110mm Air Admittance Valve allows for “internal venting.” This not only saves on installation time and labour costs but also maintains the integrity of your roof, reducing the risk of potential leaks associated with roof penetrations. It is the ideal solution for loft conversions, en-suites, and modern home extensions.
Precision Engineered for Safety
Our AAV is manufactured from high-impact PVC-U and features a high-grade EPDM rubber seal. This ensures the valve remains airtight even under fluctuating temperatures. Designed to be maintenance-free, the internal mechanism is shielded from dust and debris, ensuring it operates silently and effectively for years.
